Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Funnel Cake:
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Oil:
- In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to maintain the right temperature.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
4. Combine the Batter:
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until you have a smooth batter. The consistency should be similar to pancake batter—pourable but not too thin.
5. Fry the Funnel Cake:
- Using a funnel, squeeze bottle, or a large spoon, carefully drizzle the batter into the hot oil in a swirling motion, forming a crisscross pattern. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
6. Drain:
